reception

criticism

The e-zine Laut.de rated Kirsch with four out of a possible five points. From the point of view of the editor Philipp Kopka, Ignaz proves with his album that there are still “ rebels, rebels and innovators ”. In terms of style, Kirsch is a German-language “ based rap ” that successfully imports the “ current trend from the USA ” , which was influenced by A $ ap Rocky , Young Thug , Rae Sremmurd and Future . This is characterized by " autotune, sing-sang-rap and spherical beat structures ". Although “ the focus is less on the sophisticated lyrics ”, the album “ literally overflows with inventiveness . "The producers Lex Lugner, Wandl, Feux and B. Visible deliver" a beat structure that [couldn't] sound more modern and, in contrast to the very rough mix tapes, sounds much more fully produced and round ".

Florian Peking of MZEE is of the opinion that Crack Ignaz has "finally found and perfected his draft style for rap" on the record . It is an innovative release and the rapper's music is "always fresh and new," even if the album is rather poppy. Although it even moved away from rap and towards the mainstream through many vocal passages, Kirsch was : "a courageous record: bizarre, unusual and overly headstrong, but always charming."

Leaderboard

In the list of the best “Hip Hop Albums of the Year” 2015 by Laut.de, Kirsch was placed 24th. According to the editorial team, the album sounds “ refreshingly different. Charming Austrian dialect and poppy-kitschy hooks […] meet an idiosyncratic sound somewhere between trap and cloud rap . "With the publication, Crack Ignaz tore down the" fine line between ridiculousness and art ".
