The Kista Science Tower is one of the tallest buildings in Stockholm , Sweden, at 117.2 meters (156 meters with the antenna on the roof) . It is the landmark of the Kista district in the north-west of the city. The black cube on the roof is the upper end of the elevator shaft and also contains electronics for the antenna. The tower has 32 floors, three of which are below the ground floor (mainly parking levels).
The Kista Science Tower was completed in 2003. At that time it was the tallest building in Scandinavia, but was soon towered over by the Turning Torso , which was built in Malmö in 2004, and the Victoria Tower , which was completed in September 2011 in the same district. However, it is still the tallest office building in Scandinavia.
The building contains the fastest elevators in Sweden with speeds of five to six meters per second.
Several technology and IT companies are housed in the building. It is located next to the large Kista Galleria shopping complex and the Tunnelbana station.
