Koyama Kiyoshige

Koyama Kiyoshige ( Japanese 小山 清 茂 ; born January 15, 1914 in Yawata , Sarashina County (today: Nagano ), Nagano Prefecture , Japan ; † June 6, 2009 ) was a Japanese composer and music teacher .

He graduated from Nagano shihan gakkō (" Nagano Normal School ") in 1933 . This was followed by 22 years of teaching at various schools. In 1955 he concentrated exclusively on composition. He had studied composition with Abe Kōmei and Ikenouchi Tomojirō (1906–1991), among others . His first composition took part in the 1946 composition competition in the Composition division of the Music Competition of Japan . In 1957, 1959 and 1962 he received awards and prizes for the works he submitted. In addition to his work as a composer, he was also - until his retirement - professor at the Kobe Yamate joshi tanki daigaku ("Kobe- Yamate Women's Short College "; English Kobe Yamate Women's Junior College ).
