Ikenouchi Tomojirō
Ikenouchi Tomojirō ( Japanese 池内 友 次郎 , Ikenouchi Tomojirō ; born October 21, 1906 in Tokyo ; † March 9, 1991 ) was a Japanese composer and music teacher.
Ikenouchi studied from 1928 to 1936 at the Conservatoire de Paris with Georges Caussade , Lazare Lévy and Henri Busser .
Until 1946 he was a professor at the Nihon Daigaku , then at the University of Music and Fine Arts in Tokyo. His numerous students included Yun I-sang , Ichiyanagi Toshi , Mayuzumi Toshirō , Ishii Maki , Ikebe Shin'ichirō , Shinohara Makoto , Miyoshi Akira , Yashiro Akio , Ogura Rō , Tanaka Kōhei , Matsumura Teizō and Hirose Ryōhei .
Ikenouchi composed a symphonic suite and other orchestral pieces as well as chamber music. In 1986 he was named Bunka Kōrōsha, a person with special cultural merits , and honored.
