The nature reserve Klafter- und Fringsklafterbachtal is located in the municipality of Simmerath near Simonskall .

description

The source areas are spring swamps with white milkweed . The small streams are close to nature and have a vegetation typical of the spring. They flow through spruce forests and a forest rich in elderberries . They represent a network system to the Kall. The plan is to reduce the spruce trees in favor of deciduous forests.

Protection purpose

The habitats are to be protected for many according to the red list of endangered plants, fungi and animals in NRW . These protected biotope types can be found in this area: springs, wet and humid grassland, near-natural unobstructed stream sections.
