Sound 21
Klang21 was founded in 2004 by Fausto Tuscano, Jean-Baptiste Marchand, Thierry Bruehl and Reinhold Lay in Salzburg as an association to promote collaboration between composers, authors and theater professionals .
In addition to organizing and staging premieres and concerts of new music, the focus from the start was on opera, especially the new music theater. Since 2005, Klang21 has been organizing the Pocket Opera Festival in Salzburg with specific thematic focuses, in which the contemporary possibilities of the total work of art opera and the corresponding forms of cooperation between composers, authors and directors are expressed. The producing pocket opera festival is designed as a biennial. In the intervening years, the series Elegies of Metamorphosis takes place, in which a music theater premiere is related to a pocket opera. Panel discussions, workshops and composer portraits serve as a discursive supporting program.
Since 2008 they have been working with ARGEkultur Salzburg and the Austrian Ensemble for New Music .
