Claw tax
Claw tax or cattle money refers to a historical tax levied on four-footed (horned) cattle in some areas of Germany , analogous to a poll tax payable by every person . The tax levied was also referred to as steal money , and if the amount levied was 1 thaler, it was called steal money .
The collection of a claw tax as an extraordinary and one-time fee is documented by Duke Ludwig von Baiern in 1313.
