Klaus-Christian Kraemer

Klaus-Christian Kraemer (* 1946 ) is a German diplomat . From 2005 to the end of 2008 he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mozambique .

After studying law at the Universities of Kiel and Bonn , he worked for the state administration of Rhineland-Palatinate from 1974 to 1979 .

After joining the Foreign Service in 1979, he was employed in the Foreign Office (legal department, personnel department) and at the embassy in Zimbabwe (economic consultant). From 1989 to 1990 he was at Harvard University , Boston . From 1990 to 1993 he was then personal assistant to a State Secretary in the Foreign Office.

From 1993 to 1997 Kraemer was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam . He then worked in the Foreign and Security Policy Department at the Federal Chancellery .

As the predecessor of Ingo Winkelmann, Kraemer was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Angola from 2001 to September 2005 . He has been retired since 2009.
