Klaus-Dieter Becker (born November 15, 1935 in Saarbrücken ) is a German mathematician and physicist in Saarbrücken.

Life

Becker attended the secondary school in Völklingen . After graduating from high school, he studied mathematics, physics, chemistry and philosophy at Saarland University from the winter semester 1955/56 . In 1956 he was reciprocated in the Corps Frankonia-Prague in Saarbrücken . As a graduate mathematician and graduate physicist, he was awarded a Dr. rer. nat. PhD. Since 1963 at the Institute for Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering (Gottfried Eckart), he completed his habilitation in December 1971 in theoretical electrical engineering. In 1972 he was appointed Scientific Councilor and Professor. The following year he turned down a call to Duisburg. He stayed in Saarbrücken and was involved in the Information Technology Society , the International Union of Radio Science and the Advisory Group for Aerospace Research and Development (AGARD) of NATO . 1977–1979 and 1996–1998 he served as vice dean of his department. It worked closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Non-Destructive Testing and the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Technology . The Association of German Electrical Engineers honored him with the silver badge of honor. At the end of the winter semester 1998/99 he retired.
