Klaus-Dieter Kühn

Klaus-Dieter Kühn (* 1948 or 1949) is a German functionary of the German civil protection . He is the chairman of ARKAT , the Federal Association of Working Groups of Directorate Units / Facilities in Disaster Protection in the Federal Republic of Germany. V.

Engagement in civil protection

Klaus-Dieter Kühn began his voluntary work in civil protection in 1972 in a directing unit for the medical service in Braunschweig . From 1983 to 1989 he was on- call leader of the 1st medical readiness and from 1990 to 1995 head of the emergency task force . In addition, he was in charge of technical operations management from 1990 to 1995 . During this time he was involved in the further development of structures and technology in the medical service of the German disaster control, for example in the development of a new 4-stretcher ambulance .

Since 1988 Klaus-Dieter Kühn has been chairman of the Federal Association of Working Groups of Management Units / Facilities in Disaster Protection in the Federal Republic of Germany. V. ( ARKAT ), representing the interests of the management units, which was recognized as one of the top organizations of German civil protection in the law on the expansion of disaster control in 1990 . Before that he was chairman of the Lower Saxony regional association of ARKAT from 1985.

In 1991 he was appointed to the advisory board for the expansion of disaster control at the Federal Minister of the Interior, and in 1997 to the Standing Conference for Disaster Risk Management and Disaster Management . In 1998 he succeeded Paul Wilhelm Kolb as President of the Schutzforum . From 1999 he was a member of the German Disaster Risk Management Committee .

Professional activities

Professionally, Klaus-Dieter Kühn, who studied mechanical engineering , is a senior manager at the Technical University of Braunschweig for the scientific service. He was the managing director of the Braunschweig Research Region. V. and is now the spokesman for the technology transfer group.

Klaus-Dieter Kühn is 1st Vice President of the German-Japanese Society , Braunschweig – Peine – Wolfsburg region.

Awards

Klaus-Dieter Kühn was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 2013 for his voluntary work in civil protection.
