Klaus-Dieter Thiemes

Klaus-Dieter Thiemes (born October 30, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German agricultural engineer . He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

The son of a farming family completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural engineer after attending high school from 1964 to 1966. Then he worked until 1971 as a cooperative farmer in the LPG "Frohe Zukunft" in Berlin-Buch . From 1972 to 1985 he was foreman, division manager and department manager at VEG Schweinemast Berlin, since 1985 technical manager at VEG Tierproduktion Berlin.

In 1965 he became a member of the FDGB and in 1971 of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB). He completed a correspondence course at the agricultural engineering school Oranienburg-Luisenhof from 1969 to 1972 as an agricultural engineer. In 1972 he became a member of the Democratic Peasant Party of Germany (DBD) and in 1975 a member of the Berlin-Pankow district board and its secretariat.

From 1974 he was a district councilor in Berlin-Pankow and from 1976 to 1990 a member of the People's Chamber. Since 1981 he was a member of the Committee for Culture of the People's Chamber.
