Klaus Bohl is a German entrepreneur and local politician. Since 2006 he has been mayor of the city of Bad Salzungen in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

Life and political career

In the local elections in Thuringia in 2006 , Bohl ran for the first time as a candidate for mayor in Bad Salzungen, received 64.9% of the votes in the runoff election and was elected mayor. In the local elections in 2012 and 2018 he was re-elected.

At the beginning of his third term of office, the urban area of ​​Bad Salzungen expanded through the incorporation of the communities of Tiefenort , Frauensee and Ettenhausen an der Suhl , so that the population of the city rose to over 20,000 for the first time since the 1980s.
