Klaus Brabänder (born December 5, 1955 in Neunkirchen ) is a German writer and civil engineer .

Life

Klaus Brabänder grew up in his birthplace Neunkirchen as the son of the accountant Heinrich Brabänder and his wife Elisabeth. After elementary school , he attended the local boys' high school from 1966, where he passed his Abitur in 1975. Afterwards Brabänder began at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz I study of urban water management , which he in 1980 as a graduate engineer graduated. After graduating, he worked as a civil engineer in several organizations and major projects. He has been retired since 2019.

Klaus Brabänder is divorced and has two sons. He lives and works in Bexbach and Spiesen-Elversberg .

Literary activity

In addition to his professional activity, Brabänder has been dealing with literature for a long time. In 2010 he decided to work as a writer. The publisher Detlef Knut from Edition Oberkassel in Düsseldorf published his first book, a collection of short stories. Brabänder published his subsequent books with this publisher until 2013. In 2013 he wrote a humorous story about the construction of a waterworks. The publisher Thomas Störmer was impressed by the work; he offered the author to publish in his Marpinger Verlag (Edition Schaumberg) in the future . In 2014 Brabänder moved to this publisher.

One of the main focuses of his publications is the "detective novel" genre. So far, six detective novels have appeared in his "Black Series" (as of April 2019), the protagonist of which is Chief Inspector Josch Schaum. All cases take place in the local area of ​​the Saarland municipality of Spiesen-Elversberg.
