The Stadium Negara , also known as stage Tertutup is a multi-purpose hall in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur .
The arena is about two kilometers from the center of the capital and is right next to the Merdeka Stadium . The stadium was built from 1960 to 1962 and officially opened by Yang di-Pertuan Agong on April 19, 1962 as the first covered arena in Malaysia. The Negara Stadium is mainly used as an event building for sporting events and concerts. It was renovated in 1982.
