Klaus Brodbeck

Klaus Brodbeck (born May 6, 1956 in Knittlingen ) is the founder and head of Klaus Brodbeck Kommunal- und Unternehmensberatung GmbH . From spring 2014 to the end of January 2015, Brodbeck was the representative of the Free State of Thuringia in the Unstrut-Hainich district . His task was to steer the desolate budget of the district into orderly channels.

Life

After completing his studies at the University of Public Administration in Kehl in 1977 as a graduate in administration, Brodbeck worked for the Baden-Württemberg community examination institute until 1985 . Then he was mayor of Renchen until 2000 . From 2000 to 2008 he was district administrator of the Ortenau district .

During Brodbeck's tenure as Mayor of Renchen, numerous investments were made to expand the town's infrastructure. In addition to an urban upgrading of the city center, this includes a. the construction of a bypass, an extension for the secondary school and the expansion of day-care centers. In 1998 the Simplicissimus House was inaugurated. His tenure as district administrator included such important projects as the implementation of the administrative reform initiated by the former Prime Minister Erwin Teufel, the establishment of the municipal employment promotion as a so-called option district, the restructuring and future security of the clinics in the Ortenau district, the creation of the regional brand Echt Schwarzwald , the establishment of the Ortenau alliance for families . Brodbeck was also the spokesman for the German side and negotiator for the establishment of the Strasbourg-Ortenau Eurodistrict. In December 2007 the new children's clinic was opened in the Offenburg Clinic. With the wall-to-wall solution implemented, a maximum of medical safety was created for mother and child.

In the vocational education sector, a demography-proof school development plan for the vocational schools in the Ortenau district was drawn up on his initiative. This made it possible to maintain the school locations in rural areas as well. The main element of this planning is the creation of so-called competence centers. During his time as chairman of the waste treatment association in Kahlenberg, a mechanical-biological waste treatment plant was built in Ringsheim, Ortenaukreis, under his political leadership and responsibility. The Europe-wide patented process is meanwhile being marketed worldwide.

From 2001 to 2004 Brodbeck was chairman of the supervisory board of Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH. During his tenure, the restructuring of tourism marketing for the entire Black Forest was tackled and implemented.

From 2002 to 2005 Brodbeck was chairman of the Weißtanne Forum, an association of public and private forest owners that initiates and implements various activities to market the regional product silver fir, the main natural ecological tree species in the Black Forest.

Since 1994 Brodbeck has been teaching at the Kehl University of Applied Sciences , where he is also chairman of the Friends' Association .

Brodbeck has been chairman of the Grimmelshausenfreunde Renchen eV since 1986. Together with Martin Bircher and Christian Juranek , he developed the Simplicissimus House, which was inaugurated in 1998. The Simplicissimus House is the first reception history literary museum in Germany. In an artistically outstanding way, it pays tribute to the life and work of the baroque poet Johann Jacob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen, who was mayor of Renchen from 1667 to 1676. In 2011, Brodbeck was awarded the Golden Grimmelshausentaler for his services to cultural maintenance in the city of Renchen. Together with the former mayor of the city of Gelnhausen, Jürgen Michaelis, he initiated the Grimmelshausen Prize , which was awarded for the first time in 1993. Brodbeck has been chairman of the Grimmelshausen Archive Foundation since 1986.
