Reinhold Friedrich von Hoverbeck

Reinhold Friedrich Freiherr von Hoverbeck (born March 8, 1720 in Domkau , † December 2, 1770 in Rathenow ) was a Prussian major general and chief of the Leibkarabinierregiment as well as a lord of Reichenau.

Life

origin

Reinhold Friedrich was the son of Adam Bogislaus von Hoverbeck († August 3, 1735), Lord of Domkau, Geyerswalde and Reichenau, and his wife Sophie, née von Polenz from the house of Neudeck. His brother was the later Prussian major general Christoph Ernst von Hoverbeck (1725–1781).

Military career

In 1735, Hoverbeck was employed as an Estandartenjunker in the Kurassier regiment "von Geßler" of the Prussian army . On September 19, 1737 he became a cornet in this regiment . During the campaign in 1740/42 Hoverbeck fought near Mollwitz and Chotusitz and became a lieutenant on October 19, 1741. As such, he took part in the campaign in 1744/45 , was wounded in the Battle of Hohenfriedberg , then fought at Thrush and took part in the siege of Prague . On March 3, 1752, he was promoted to staff assistant master .

During the Seven Years' War 1756/63 Hoverbeck was major on March 2, 1758 and on March 3, 1760 lieutenant colonel . After the peace agreement he was given command of the regiment and a few months later became a colonel . King Friedrich II appointed Hoverbeck on September 26, 1768 chief of the body carabinier regiment and finally promoted him to major general on September 9, 1769.

family

Hoverbeck married on September 18, 1746 in Blasdorf with Juliane Magdalena Freiin von Zedlitz from the Blasdorf house (born November 10, 1721 in Blasdorf; † May 10, 1790 in Rathenow). The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Charlotte Magdalena Henriette (born May 20, 1755 in Breslau)
  • Leopold Reichold Bogislav (born July 4, 1764 in Breslau)
