Klaus Diebitz (born June 15, 1942 ) is a former German soccer player. In 1964 he played for Dynamo Dresden in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

At the age of 18, Klaus Diebitz won the soccer district cup in 1960 with the company sports association (BSG) Lokomotive Dresden . The BSG Lok won the final 6: 5 against the BSG unit Kamenz , with Diebitz scoring the winning goal. Before he became a soldier in the National People's Army in 1962 , he had played with Lok Dresden in the fourth class district league . During his time in the army, Diebitz was given the opportunity to continue playing football with the Army Sports Association (ASG) Vorwärts Cottbus . He was only used there in the 2nd team, which was represented in the Cottbus district league. In April 1964 Diebitz finished his military service and returned to Dresden . There he joined the league relegated Dynamo Dresden and played four point games in the second-rate GDR league by the end of the season . He scored three goals and then celebrated with the team the return to the league. For the 1964/65 season Diebitz was initially only intended for the district league team Dynamo II. However, when the regular midfielder Bernd Hofmann was injured after four league appearances, Diebitz was used in his place in the nine remaining league games of the first half of the season. Acting in midfield, he did not score any goals, and when Hofmann was ready for the second half of the season, Diebitz was no longer called up in the league team. Although he had been nominated for the top division squad of Dynamo Dresden for the season 1965/66, he did not make any further top division appearances and later did not appear in national football.
