Klaus Hasenfratz

Klaus Hasenfratz (born May 31, 1946 in Bochum ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school, Hasenfratz completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator in 1960, which he completed in 1963 with the skilled worker examination. Then he worked in the profession he had learned. 1967/68 he did his basic military service in the Bundeswehr . He joined IG Metall in 1960 , had been a member of the works council since 1981 and chairman of the works council at Bochumer Verein Verkehrstechnik GmbH in Bochum since 1984 . On January 1st, 2008 Klaus Hasenfratz ended his active professional life.

Political party

Hasenfratz has been a member of the SPD since 1976. From 1987 to 1994 he was chairman of the working group for employee issues of the SPD in the sub-district of Bochum and was then elected deputy chairman of the sub-district.

MP

Hasenfratz was a member of the German Bundestag from 1987 to 2002 . He represented the constituency of Bochum I in parliament and was a member of the Committee for Transport, Building and Housing.
