Klaus Hekking

Klaus Hekking (born February 14, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and manager of education and health companies. From 1985 to 2015 Hekking was CEO of SRH Holding .

Hekking studied law and political science in Freiburg from 1969 to 1974 . From 1976 to 1982 he worked for the state government of Baden-Württemberg , a. a. as personal advisor to the then interior minister Lothar Späth and the social minister Dietmar Schlee .

In 1983 Hekking became deputy chairman of the board, 1985 chairman of the board of the SRH. In the 30 years under his responsibility was from the beginning existentially vulnerable Foundation Rehabilitation Heidelberg the SRH , a modern large enterprise in the education and health sector with subsidiaries inn Germany and the UPA College in Paraguay.

Hekking is a lawyer and honorary professor at SRH Hochschule Heidelberg and Colorado State University . Until 2019 he was Chairman of the Board of the Association of Private Universities, of which he is Honorary Chairman today. Since June 2018 he has been Vice President of the European Union of Private Higher Education (EUPHE) based in Brussels, which represents the interests of private universities at European level. Hekking was a member of numerous committees in business, including a. of the supervisory board of the Evangelische Bank in Kassel , member of the board of the action group social market economy, as well as member of the advisory boards of the Commerzbank and the IKB. He has been an elected district advisory council in Heidelberg for the CDU since 2019.
