Klaus Hofmann (football official)

Klaus-Jürgen Hofmann (born October 21, 1967 in Buchloe ) is a German entrepreneur and soccer professional .

Life

Klaus Hofmann attended elementary school and high school. He did his military service in Lagerlechfeld . He then studied in Augsburg until 1992 .

During his studies, Hofmann already worked for the meat company Moksel from Buchloe , where he quickly rose after his studies. In 1996 he moved to the Schindler company in Berlin , where he also rose rapidly. In 2001 he moved to the fire protection company Minimax in Bad Oldesloe , where he is chairman of the board and in which he and an American partner hold a third of the company shares.

Hofmann played tennis in the first division and football in the fourth division for several years .

In 2012 Hofmann donated one million euros for the construction of a youth performance center for FC Augsburg . In December of the same year he was elected to the supervisory board, in April 2014 he was appointed to the management board. On December 3, 2014, he succeeded Walther Seinsch as CEO. He announced that he did not want to make any “revolutions”, but rather to continue on the path that the association had taken under Seinsch.

Hofmann has already criticized the " RB Leipzig construct " and the exemptions for Bayer 04 Leverkusen , VfL Wolfsburg and 1899 Hoffenheim in the 50 + 1 rule . For him, however, the abolition of the rule is also an option.
