Klaus J. Zink

Klaus Joachim Zink (born March 13, 1947 in Bad Mingolsheim ) is a German economist .

Life

Zink studied technical business administration at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) . He then worked as a scientific assistant at the local Institute for Manufacturing Management and Ergonomics with Günter Rühl and was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In 1978 he completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Economics.

In 1979 he was a substitute professor for business administration and ergonomics at the University of Kaiserslautern and from 1979 to 1980 a professorship at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . From 1980 to 2012 he held the chair for industrial management and ergonomics at the Department of Economics at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern , then until March 2020 as a senior research professor . In addition, he was the founder and from 1994 to March 2020 scientific director of the Institute for Technology and Labor (affiliated institute of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern). With the Center for Distance Learning and University Continuing Education at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, he initiated courses in the field of total quality management and personnel development . Until 2012, he was also the scientific director of the master’s degree in “Economics and Management”, which he also handed over to Professor Volker Lingnau when he retired .

From 1992 to 1999 he was a juror for the European Quality Award and from 1997 to 2005 he was the jury chairman for the Ludwig-Erhard-Preis for excellence in competition. From 1994 to 2001 he was a member of the executive committee of the Society for Ergonomics (1997–1999: President). In 2000 he became a fellow. From 2007 to 2013, Zink was a board member of the Science Alliance at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. He is a member of the editorial board of several magazines and u. a. Co-editor of the book series Sustainable Development .
