Klaus Langrock

Klaus Langrock (born April 12, 1934 ) is a former German handball player and coach.

Life

Langrock, who came from Torgau , began studying at the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK) in 1953 and played for the newly founded HSG Wissenschaft DHfK Leipzig from 1954 . The 1.90 meter tall player belonged to the first generation of the DHfK and initially competed with the team in the district class. In 1958 Langrock rose with the Leipzigers in the league, the top division of the German Democratic Republic , and won the national championship title with the team in 1959. In 1960, Langrock withdrew from competitive handball and from then on worked in Torgau as a physical education teacher. He was part of the coaching staff of the GDR national team, which became Olympic champion at the 1980 Summer Games.
