Klaus Lennartz (philologist)

Klaus Lennartz (born September 20, 1963 in Cologne ) is a German classical philologist .

After studying Classical and Middle Latin Philology with Rudolf Kassel , Clemens Zintzen and Alf Önnerfors at the University of Cologne , he passed the 1st state examination for teaching at grammar schools ( Latin and Greek ) and Rigorosum ( Middle Latin Philology).

From 1991 to 1994 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Greek and Latin Philology at the Free University of Berlin ( Widu-Wolfgang Ehlers / Fritz Wagner ). With the work Non verba sed vim. He received his doctorate in 1993 in critical exegetical investigations into the fragments of the archaic Roman tragedy , the examiners were Clemens Zintzen, Bernd Manuwald and Alf Önnerfors. From 1994 to 2000 he was Dieter Harlfinger's research assistant at the Institute for Greek and Latin Philology at the University of Hamburg. Since October 2000 he has been teaching there as a teacher for special tasks, interrupted by a visiting professorship in Greek Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin on behalf of Wolfgang Rösler in the winter semester 2009/10. In 2007 he was awarded the Iambos study . Philological studies of the history of a genre in antiquity in Classical and Middle Latin Philology habilitation . In 2009 he was awarded the title of Professor (§ 17 HmbHG).

Past and current research interests are the Roman literature of the former republic , Greek and Roman iambik, and Middle Latin literature .
