life and work

Klaus Peter Noever studied from 1946 to 1954 with Laurens Goosens at the Werkkunstschule Krefeld (today's Niederrhein University ) with a focus on decorative painting. During this time he went on numerous study trips that took him through Africa. From 1954 Noever worked as a freelance painter and sculptor. In 1955 he received the “Lower Rhine Art Prize” from the city of Krefeld, and in 1956 the Prix d'Art de Jeunesse in Paris.

As a sculptor, Noever worked with natural materials and materials. "His sculptures grow out of wood, ceramic, stainless steel, lead and slate", which constantly pushed the possibilities of what is technically feasible to the limit. Noever's sculptures and paintings are characterized by their proximity to water and the sea. Especially his more recent works are pervaded by fishing motifs.

Klaus Peter Noever lived and worked in Krefeld as well as in Galicia, Spain .

Quote

Klaus Peter Noever did not become an artist to be bored, as his extensive work shows. His work resembles an incessant search for new possibilities in the great field of fine arts. Trying out new materials and techniques, experimenting with their specific properties, fascinates and captivates him. In this way, new work processes are constantly being created. [...] As an artist, Klaus Peter Noever is always on the lookout, and there is no doubt: he always finds something useful, surprisingly new, even if it has been put aside for the time being. "
