Klaus Rehder (politician)

Klaus Rehder (born July 12, 1943 in Schwerin ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

After graduating from high school, Rehder studied history and Romance studies in Munich and passed the state examination. From 1974 to 1994 and again from 1999 until his retirement he worked as a civil servant teacher for history, social studies and French at the Donauwörth high school . In 1975 he became civil service spokesman for the district executive of the DGB Donauwörth / Lauingen .

Rehder joined the SPD in 1979, where he was press spokesman, managing director and deputy sub-district chairman as well as being a member of the state party council and the European working group. In 1989 he became chairman of the Europe-North Swabia working group and member of the European Union , he was also vice-president of the European Movement Bavaria. From 1994 to 1999 he was a member of the European Parliament . There he sat in the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, in the Transport Committee and in the delegation of the EU- Czech Republic Joint Parliamentary Committee .

In 1996 Rehder sharply criticized Deutsche Bahn AG's customer policy and publicly returned his Bahncard .
