Klaus Rosenfeld (born May 6, 1966 in Bonn ) has been CEO of Schaeffler AG since June 2014 .

life and career

Rosenfeld grew up with his two brothers in Hamm in Westphalia, where his father was a judge at the Higher Regional Court . After graduating from Beisenkamp-Gymnasium in Hamm in 1985, he completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Dresdner Bank and then did military service as a radio operator in the Navy . At the University of Münster he studied business administration and economics up to the diploma exam in 1993 . He also played the violin in the university orchestra. In 1993 he returned to Dresdner Bank and worked there until 1997 in the area of special financing of investment banking . In 1997 he became assistant to Bernhard Walter's board of directors . In April 2001 he was appointed a member of the Management Board and became a general agent and co-head of finance and controlling, and from 2002 to 2009 was CFO responsible for finance & controlling, compliance and the bank's investment business (corporate investments).

In March 2009, he moved to the automotive supplier Schaeffler as CFO . In autumn 2013 he took over the post of CEO from his predecessor Jürgen Geißinger on an interim basis . In June 2014 he was appointed regular CEO for five years and his contract was extended to mid-2024 in October 2018.

Rosenfeld is married and has four children.
