Klaus Scharenberg

Klaus Scharenberg (born October 6, 1931 ) is a German lawyer , general staff officer and former head of the Fü S I 5 department and vice president of the CISM .

Life

In February 1980, the General Staff Officer Scharenberg took over the management of the Fü SI 5 major unit in the command staff of the armed forces, which was composed of three units . Thus he was responsible for the Bundeswehr-Sozialwerk (BwSW), the reservists, sport in the Bundeswehr (Bw), the soldiers' relief organization and the military music . At the same time he took over the seat of the officially appointed assessor on the federal board of the BwSW for almost eleven years . At the meeting of the federal executive committee from March 6 to 9, 1991 in Oberwiesenthal , Colonel i. G. Scharenberg adopted. The then federal chairman and now honorary chairman Egon Storz paid tribute to his services to the BwSW and awarded Scharenberg the gold badge of the BwSW . His merits include, for example, charity events with the Bundeswehr music corps and the traditional soccer game between the Bw national team and VfB Stuttgart . Scharenberg also enjoyed a high reputation abroad and accompanied the position of Vice President of the global military sports association CISM . The President of the Republic of Nigeria Ibrahim Babangida awarded him the honor of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for his services in providing sporting aid to African countries .

After finishing his professional career, Klaus Scharenberg is now working as a chronicler in his home town of Döhle and in 2008 published a book on the history of the place and the surrounding area.
