Klaus Schumacher (politician, 1957)

Klaus Schumacher (born January 30, 1957 in Düsseldorf ) is a German municipal civil servant ( CDU ) and full-time mayor of the city of Sankt Augustin in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Schumacher moved to Sankt Augustin with his parents in 1960. After attending school, he made his diploma as a social worker in Cologne in 1980 . He then worked for the Sankt Augustin city administration in the social welfare office and in the youth welfare office until 1995. In 1995 he moved to the Federal Railway Authority in Bonn . Schumacher has been politically active in the CDU since 1988. From 1995 to 2000 and again from 2008 to 2010 he was chairman of the Sankt Augustinian CDU city association.

Klaus Schumacher has been the full-time mayor of Anke Riefers since October 1st, 1999 . He was re-elected in 2004 , 2009 and 2014 . In March 2019, he announced that he would not run again in the 2020 local elections.

Schumacher is married and has two grown children from his first marriage.
