Klaus Seidel (born November 15, 1933 ) is a former German football player who was active in 1953 for BSG Motor Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

The 19-year-old Klaus Seidel made his first league debut with the company sports association (BSG) Motor Gera on the last match day of the first half of the 1952/53 season when he replaced goalkeeper Fritz Dreyer, who was supposed to replace regular goalkeeper Siegfried Offrem , in the 27th minute . was substituted on. Seidel was an outfield player by default and was used as such in six league games in the second half of the season. First, he played the first two first round matches as a right winger, then he was either substituted on or off. The Geraer BSG, which changed its name in the course of the second half of the season to BSG Wismut, rose from the league at the end of the season.

In the GDR league season 1953/54, Seidel was still part of the BSG Wismut squad, but only came on the 14th match day as a half-left attacker and scored the first point goal of his career. Most of the point games of his national career Seidel played in the GDR league season 1954/55. Between the 7th and 20th matchday he was called up under the new coach Herbert Melzer in eleven league games, whereby he benefited from the fact that four regular players left the BSG during the season. Seidel was always on the attack, but in changing positions. Already on his first mission he scored another point goal. In the fall of 1955, a transition round to switch to the spring-summer game rhythm was held in the GDR game classes. Klaus Seidel only played the first transition round match and ended his career in higher-class football before the next season.
