Klaus Stemmer

Klaus Stemmer (born May 5, 1942 in Munich ) is a German classical archaeologist .

After studying classical archeology, he was admitted to the University of Freiburg i. Br. Obtained his doctorate with Paul Zanker with a dissertation on the Roman tank statues. 1973–74 he held the travel grant of the German Archaeological Institute . 1974 to 1977 worked as a consultant in the central management of the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin. From 1977 to 1979 he was a research assistant at the Archaeological Institute of the University of Bonn . From 1979 to 2007 he was academic advisor and curator of the collection of antique sculptures at the Free University of Berlin .
