Klaus Weber (born September 17, 1939 in Bamberg ) is a German lawyer and former president of the Traunstein Regional Court . He is the author of one of the most famous commentaries on the Narcotics Act .

Life

Weber passed his Abitur in Saarland in 1958 and studied law in Saarbrücken , Würzburg and Freiburg . He did his legal clerkship at the Bayreuth Regional Court . After the second state examination, which he passed in 1968, Weber found a job in the Bavarian Ministry of Justice . In 1970 he began as a public prosecutor at the Munich I Public Prosecutor's Office, for a short time he worked as a judge at the Munich I Regional Court. This was followed by a secondment to the Federal Ministry of the Interior , where he was responsible for questions of international criminal law . After his return as a judge at the Regional Court of Munich I , Weber moved again to the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior with effect from March 16, 1975 in the rank of senior government councilor for three years. He was then appointed presiding judge at the Munich District Court with effect from February 1, 1978. He ran a chamber for commercial matters there . On June 1, 1980 Weber moved again to the Bavarian Ministry of Justice, this time for a longer period. At times he was responsible for the juvenile prison system there, and later also for the criminal law department.

In the course of the German reunification, Weber also worked on the legislation on the Unification Treaty and went to Dresden in 1991 as part of a delegation. Since the judiciary from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg had taken over the construction aid for the Saxon judiciary, Weber worked until 1993 as head of the criminal law department in the Saxon Ministry of Justice. Subsequently, with effect from May 1, 1993, he was appointed Chief Public Prosecutor of the Traunstein Public Prosecutor's Office. On June 1, 1997, he finally took over as President of the Traunstein Regional Court. In 2004 Weber went into retirement.

In 1999 Weber published his commentary on the Narcotics Act for the first time, the fifth edition of which appeared in 2017. In addition to the Körner / Patzak / Volkmer, his comment is the second standard comment on this area of ​​ancillary criminal law.
