Klaus Winkler (theologian)

Klaus Winkler (born May 16, 1934 ; † January 7, 2000 in Vienna ) was a German Protestant theologian and training analyst.

Winkler was a student of Otto Haendler , with whom he did his doctorate at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 1960 on the subject of "Dogmatic statements in modern theology in relation to the basic concepts of the complex psychology of CG Jung". After completing his psychoanalytic training in 1962, he worked as a parish priest in Hanover-Laatzen from 1963 to 1969. As the successor to Dietrich Stollberg, he taught from 1980 to 1997 as a professor of practical theology at the Church University of Bethel and was also director of the pastoral care institute there, supported by the EKD. He was one of the founding members and from 1972 to 1978 the first chairman of the German Society for Pastoral Psychology (DGfP). Alongside Joachim Scharfenberg , Hermann Stenger and Dietrich Stollberg, one of the most important representatives of German-language poimenics after the Second World War .
