Klaus Woltron

Klaus Woltron (born October 15, 1945 in Wels , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian entrepreneur , author and columnist . He is a founding member of the Club of Vienna and was an active member until April 2008.

Career

Woltron studied metallurgy at the Montan University Leoben . In the 1980s he worked as general director of Simmering - Graz - Pauker AG and member of the group management of the then ÖIAG (Österreichische Industrieholding Aktiengesellschaft) in the restructuring of the nationalized industry of Austria - Österreichische Industrieholding -, reorganized the Austrian subsidiary of ABB as general director from 1988–1992 AG. He was a founding member and board member of the Sustainable Performance Group ( sustainability - investment funds ) in Zurich , member of the Advisory Board of the Chicago Climate Exchange Group ( emissions trading ); was vice-president of TÜV Austria for decades, member of several other supervisory boards, owner of a holding company in Vienna, whose investments have meanwhile been realized. As part of this company, he worked on the reorganization and restructuring of companies in Austria from 1992 to 2008. He was and is a commentator in several Austrian journals, from August 2018 he writes regularly in the weekend edition of the Kronen-Zeitung .

Klaus Woltron is the father of the journalist Ute Woltron .
