Little Briesnig

Klein Briesnig , Mały Rjasnik in Lower Sorbian , was originally a "colony" of Briesnig, north of Forst in Lusatia . Since July 1, 1950 it was a district of Briesnig . The place was in the mining field of the Jänschwalde opencast mine and was completely demolished by 1987/88. 28 people were resettled.

location

Klein Briesnig bordered the north-eastern part of the municipality on the Bohrauer ponds and was northwest of Bohrau.

history

The place was first mentioned in a census in 1818 . From 1836 to 1841 the Briesnig estate was sold to 21 small farmers. They divided the Gutsland among themselves. In 1945, at the end of the Second World War, the residents were evacuated. The war front , and with it intense fighting, ran along the Neisse and near the towns of Briesnig and Bohrau.

The population development of Klein Briesnig from its first mention in 1818 until its demolition in 1979:

  • 1840: 62 inhabitants
  • 1864: 78 inhabitants
  • 1979: 28 inhabitants
