The Kleinbahn-AG Tirschtiegel - Dürrlettel was established after the First World War to ensure the small town of Tirschtiegel in the district of Meseritz can continue to be connected to the German rail network after the border was drawn in 1920.

According to the Versailles Treaty of 1919, most of the Prussian province of Posen was assigned to the Republic of Poland . The Meseritz district including the town of Tirschtiegel remained with the German Empire and was subordinated to the Grenzmark Province of Posen-West Prussia . The railway line Birnbaum - Bentschen with the Tirschtiegel station was now on Polish territory.

Therefore, the German Reich, the Prussian State, the province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia, the district of Meseritz and the city of Tirschtiegel founded the Kleinbahn-AG Tirschtiegel - Dürrlettel, which on September 13, 1929 opened a 8.7 kilometer branch line at the station Dürrlettel branched off from the Meseritz - Neu Bentschen route. The connecting station was called Dürrlettel-Tirschtiegel between 1920 and 1929 and at times had a bus connection to Tirschtiegel.

The operation was led by the Reichsbahndirektion Osten in Frankfurt an der Oder . The 1929/30 timetable provided for four pairs of trains a day. However, the passenger traffic was given up again on February 15, 1932, because most of the travelers used the direct postal service from Tirschtiegel to the district town of Meseritz. When the border was abolished during the Second World War , from May 31, 1941, goods traffic on the small railroad ceased and the route was canceled again.

The full length of the railway line is still clearly visible in the landscape today. The station building in Eschenwalde no longer exists. The station building on the western outskirts of Tirschtiegel is empty on the site of a wood processing company, but it is very well preserved. In particular, the former counter room has been preserved almost in its original form.
