The Kleine-Dörfer-Weg is a circular hiking trail through the villages belonging to the city of Braunschweig .
history
As early as 2000, the Braunschweiger Forum developed proposals for the establishment of the Kleine-Dörfer-Weg and handed them over to the city administration. Efforts have been made since 2015 to continuously signpost the route. However, these have so far failed due to financing and legal framework conditions.
course
The path leads through the historical core of almost all Braunschweig villages and circles the city once. In order to reach as many villages as possible, the path leads over a total of approx. 109 km in several loops. There are no fixed stages.
Sights along the way
In almost every village the path leads past a BLIK sign that explains the history of the respective village. The following sights are also on the way:
- Old church Querum
- Gliesmaroder Tower
- Riddagshausen Monastery
- St. Aegidien (Rautheim)
- Heidbergsee
- South Pacific (Braunschweig)
- Kreuzkirche (Braunschweig-Lehndorf)
