The Kleine Gadowsee is located in the Feldberger Seenlandschaft nature park , in the Mecklenburg Lake District in southeast Mecklenburg. The eponymous place Gardow was a field mark near the lake that was already described as desolate in 1583 . The Gardow Commandery was located here from the end of the 13th to the 16th century . The circular body of water has an approximate length of 400 meters and a maximum width of 260 meters. The lake shore is almost completely forested and swampy towards the Dabelowsee. On the east bank is the town Comthurey .
