history

The first known documentary mention of Kleinkevelaer was on July 20, 1533.

Duke Carl von Geldern decreed that all residents of Groß- and Kleinkevelaer must in future bring their grain to the Mill zu Wissen for grinding, since the mill in Wetten, which was destroyed by fire, first had to be rebuilt. The Langevoortshof and the Stalbergs Hof from Kleinkevelaer are listed in tax lists from 1380. The village belonged to the parish Walbeck until 1571 , then to the parish Twisteden . From the 16th to the 19th century there were 12 houses. In 1816 the place was assigned as an independent municipality to the newly formed district of Geldern . Already at the beginning of the 20th century, both Twisteden and Kevelaer tried to incorporate the small community.
