Small extinguishers are extinguishers which have limited extinguishing capacity, and therefore only for quenching of small - and incipient fires may be used.

As an important means in preventive fire protection , these are often set up in easily accessible places, for example in the kitchen or next to the theater stage.

Examples of small fire extinguishers are:

Extinguishing devices are currently in use that either replace the bucket syringe or represent a rapid attack device in non-water-bearing vehicles such as rescue vehicles . These are mostly high-pressure extinguishing devices for 6–100 liters of water or compressed air foam operated by compressed air bottles , which can either be used as a portable fire extinguisher, as a trolley, or from a pull-out slide. A distinction must be made between compact high-pressure extinguishing units, which are designed as motor-driven fire pumps .

history

Corresponding orders from 1772 existed under Count Palatine Karl IV for the storage and use of fire buckets and also for the prevention of fire . It was strictly ensured that every landlord always had a tub filled with water available and a leather fire bucket with a name at hand. Each municipality had to keep a certain number of buckets in stock. No resident was allowed to marry or be accepted as a subject who had not supplied the community buckets with a new one with the year and name.
