history

An atonement cross on the border to Langenhain is the oldest known historical record of Kleintabarz. The district of Klein Tabarz, first mentioned in 1614, developed around the Untermühle and a ducal hunting lodge belonging to the armory of Tenneberg Castle near Waltershausen . With the incorporation of the mills, factories and farmhouses located there in 1925, the unification of Klein-Tabarz and Groß-Tabarz to form Tabarz was completed.

In Kleintabarz there is a memorial stone for those who fell in World War I , a small cemetery of the Tabarz community, former mills on the Laucha and several businesses. The former farmhouse was set up as an agricultural property in the 20th century and was temporarily a home in the GDR era. An allotment garden with a view of the island's mountain was created on the outskirts . A popular bike path connects Tabarz via Kleintabarz with Langenhain , Laucha , Mechterstädt and Waltershausen.
