Klepsau is a district of Krautheim in Hohenlohekreis in northern Baden-Württemberg . The place currently has around 500 inhabitants.

location

Klepsau is located on the great north arch of the Jagst between Dörzbach and the central Krautheim, i.e. almost at its northernmost point, in the very flat right floodplain, half a kilometer wide, in front of the tapering right edges of the valley ditch and the larger Laibach , which is the last to receive it . which flows along the eastern edge of the Weichbild into the Jagst, which here itself flows hard past the left foot of the slope.

The old town center lies between Jagsttalstraße L 1025 in the middle of the meadow and the bank, where an old mill stands at the exit of a right channel above a weir over the Jagst. There are newer parts of the settlement north of the road and even on the lowest right slope of the Jagst valley. The K 2313 branches off the state road to the northeast and leads to the Dörzbach suburb of Laibach in the Laibach valley.

history

In 1926 the remains of a settlement were found in Klepsau, which dates from around 700 to 600 BC. Existed. In 1968, during construction work, pre-Christian burial grounds were found.

On September 1, 1971, the previously independent place was incorporated into the city of Krautheim.
