The Augustinum Clinic Munich is a specialist clinic and a teaching hospital for internal medicine with a focus on cardiology , angiology , gastroenterology , pulmonology , kidney , hypertension and metabolic diseases . It belongs to the Augustinum Group . This is a member of the Diakonisches Werk Bayern of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria . The clinic is located in the western Munich district of Hadern, between the Federal Highway 96and the Haderner Stern underground station in the immediate vicinity of the Augustinum residential building .
history
The clinic was founded by the Protestant pastor Georg Rückert and opened on November 13, 1963, the birthday of the eponym Augustinus , as an internal specialist clinic, Stiftsklinik Augustinum . In 1984 a new building was inaugurated. In 1985 the clinic was divided into the areas of gastroenterology and cardiology and an intensive care unit was opened, and it was given the specialist hospital care level . In 1994 the pulmonology and sleep laboratory departments were added, in 1995 nephrology with six dialysis places , and in 1998 electrophysiology . In 2004 the clinic became the teaching hospital of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 2006 the previous Stiftsklinik Augustinum was renamed Clinic Augustinum .
