Klofningsnes is a peninsula in western Iceland . It is located between Snæfellsnes and the Westfjords in Breiðafjörður .
Klofningsnes is located in Dalabyggð municipality in Dalasýsla district . The Hvammsfjörður lies off its south coast, the Fellsströmend . The north coast is called Skarðsströnd and extends to Gilsfjörður . There are no villages on the approximately 800 km² peninsula, only individual farms. The Klofningsvegur
