The Ercsi (Erchi) Monastery is a former Cistercian abbey in today's Budapest agglomeration south of the capital and near the Danube in Fejér County in Hungary .

history

The monastery was founded in 1252 (according to other sources not until around 1285) by Palatine Tamás. It was a subsidiary of the Topusko Monastery in today's Croatia and thus belonged to the filiation of the Clairvaux Primary Abbey . In the 14th century, four monks from Ercsi are attested as helpers in the Bélapátfalva monastery . The monastery came to an end in 1482.
