The Church of the Exaltation of the Cross

The church goes back to a foundation of Stephen the Great in 1487.

architecture

The church is the earliest completely preserved three- corner church of the Vltava type. There is a “Moldavian vault” above the naos . The outer walls of the apses , like the tambour of the dome, are divided into narrow blind arcades. A narrow terracotta frieze runs under the eaves.

Murals

Emperor Constantine before the throne of Jesus

In the pronaos on the west wall there is a representation of a troop of horsemen, led by the Archangel Michael, followed by Emperor Constantine and the equestrian saints George and Demetrius, against enemies. Other wall paintings have suffered greatly over time.
