The Knerten ( Norwegian for Knirps ) is a small and isolated rocky outcrop in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the north-western part of the Ahlmannryggen it rises 11 km north of the Vesleskarvet .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named it descriptively, mapped the rock on the basis of aerial photographs and surveys of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) made between 1958 and 1959 .
