Knife and Steel Harbor is a small natural harbor in the Southland regionon the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The Knife and Steel Harbor , more like a small bay, is located around 52 km west-southwest of Tuatapere on the south coast of the South Island. The bay has a depth and width of around 1000 m. The 525 m wide entrance to the bay is lined on both sides by rocks jutting out of the water. The coastline stretches for around 1.3 km.
South Coast Track
The South Coast Track passes north of the bay, halfway between the Westies Hut and Waitutu Hut shelters .
