Knut Bichoel

Knut Bichoel (born February 25, 1944 in Hohenthurm ) is a former German local politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 2007 he was district administrator of the then Saalkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

Career

After training as a lathe operator, Bichoel studied mechanical engineering . He worked at VEB Schachtbau Welzow. After German reunification , he was elected district administrator of the then Saalkreis in 1990. In the district elections in 1994 and 2001, Bichoel was re-elected with 51.6% and 76.5% of the vote, respectively. He had been a member of the district council since 1974.

Biochel did not run for the district council election for the newly created Saalekreis in 2007, but again successfully ran for the district council. In December 2009 he resigned from his district council.

Biochel is married and has two sons. In 2008 he was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon .
