Kostolná Ves (until 1927 Slovak also "Kostolnejsa"; German Kostolnadorf , Hungarian Kisegyházas - until 1907 Kosztolnafalu ) is a municipality in the west-center of Slovakia with 474 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Prievidza , part of the Trenčiansky kraj , heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the foothills of the Hornonitrianska kotlina basin in the Nitrica valley , which feeds the Nitrianske Rudno reservoir here. The center of the village is at an altitude of 385 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Prievidza .
Neighboring municipalities are Liešťany in the north, Seč in the northeast, Dlžín in the east, Diviaky nad Nitricou in the south and Nitrianske Rudno in the west.
history
Kostolná Ves was first mentioned in writing from 1332-1337 as Divec Superior or Veghaz and belonged to the territory of Neutra Castle , later the village was owned by families such as Divéky , Bossányi and Rudnay . In 1553 Kostolná Ves owned a mill and six portals . In 1778 the village had 25 households and 198 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 44 houses and 308 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and fruit traders.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, 455 people lived in Kostolná Ves, of which 449 were Slovaks and one Russian and one Czech . Four residents did not give any information about their ethnicity .
366 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Greek Catholic Church, two residents each to the Jehovah's Witnesses and to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Orthodox Church; seven residents professed a different denomination. 47 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 27 residents was not determined.
