Poluvsie (until 1927 Slovak "Polusy" or "Poluží"; German Halbendorf , Hungarian Erdőrét - until 1907 Pollusz ) is a municipality in the west-center of Slovakia with 562 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), part of Okres Prievidza , a Part of the Trenčiansky kraj .
geography
The municipality is located in the northern part of the Hornonitrianska kotlina basin on the right bank of the Nitra . The center of the village is at an altitude of 320 m nm and is eight kilometers from Prievidza .
Neighboring municipalities are Nitrianske Pravno in the north, Pravenec in the east, Nedožery-Brezany in the south, Lazany in the southwest and Malinová in the west.
history
Poluvsie was founded under German law on the occasion of the Privice judge Petrík and was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1358. It was first a subject village in the rulership of the city of Priwitz, from the 16th century it came to the estate of Weinitz Castle . In 1675 there were 13 families, 12 settlements and 54 residents, in 1715 12 households lived in the village, in 1753 a miller and a blacksmith worked in the village. In 1787 the village had 20 houses and 139 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 27 houses and 189 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and fruit growers.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Poluvsie had 603 residents, 579 of whom were Slovaks , three Czechs , two Poles and one German and one Moravian . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and 16 residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
441 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, four residents to the Pentecostal Movement, three residents to the Evangelical Church AB, two residents to the Greek Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church and one resident each to the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and the New Apostolic Church; four residents professed a different denomination. 104 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 43 inhabitants was not determined.
